What BRUVISCREENE is used for: this sterile hydrogel is used for lubricating, moisturizing, and protecting eye tissues from UV-radiation. The primary composition of the hydrogel is based on glycerin, which attracts water from the eye tissues and forms an aqueous film on the cornea surface, which, in the presence of polyvinyl alcohol and sodium hyaluronate, is embedded in the network of these polymeric substances. Thus, a very stable colloidal hydrogel film (shape) with viscoelastic properties is formed, which can absorb the substances of the colloidal composition, ensuring long-term contact with the cornea and conjunctiva.
BRUVISCREEN eye drops contain N-methyl-benzoquinoline-methylsulfate — a well-known substance with high tolerability, remarkable physical shielding effect on ultraviolet rays because of absorption of ultraviolet radiation with a wavelength of 280 to 315 nm, the most dangerous for the eye tissues. This substance, a part of the hydrogel, which is the basis of this medicine, is evenly distributed as a thin viscoelastic, mucous, and very stable film. It protects the eye tissues for a long time from the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays of natural (sun, snow, or sea) or artificial (halogen lamps, monitors, televisions, sunbeds, or germicidal lamps for sanitary use, etc.) origin, eliminating eye irritation after stress.
Basic physical and chemical properties: absolutely transparent and almost tintless solution; pH, viscosity, and osmolality are fully compatible with the eye tissues and tear fluid, which provides its high tolerance.
Composition: N-methyl-benzoquinoline-methylsulfate 0.3%, polyvinyl alcohol 1.25%, sodium hyaluronate 0.01%, glycerin 0.68%, methylparaben 0.03%, propyl parahydroxybenzoate 0.012%, sodium edetate, sodium chloride, sodium phosphate bibasic, potassium phosphate monobasic, hamamelis hydrolate, purified water.
