KERATOSEPT eye drops
Lubricating, moisturizing, epithelial protective eye drops
General characteristics: Keratosept – is a sterile hydrogel containing:
– polyvinyl alcohol, which has a lubricating, moisturizing, viscoelastic , mucoadhesive and protective effect;
– dexpanthenol , which belongs to the class of B vitamins and is homologous to pantothenic acid, which nourishes the tissue trophism of the eye and has epithelial -protective properties;
– hexamidine diisethionate , polyhexanide hydrochloride and disodium edetate (antiseptic substances) and other excipients used in eye drops.
Due to the properties of its components, the medical device is effective as an aid for corneal re-epithelialization after damage caused by external traumatic agents, as well as contact lenses, air conditioning, sunlight, artificial lighting, and prolonged computer work.
Keratosept stabilizes the tear film and protects the surface of the eye in any cases of tear film dysfunction, in particular in patients with recurrent eye infections. The antiseptics included in the ophthalmic solution maintain its sterility after the first opening of the bottle and protect the eye tissues from irritation and possible infections caused by environmental factors (smog, smoke, dust, polluted air, etc.). The concentration of polyvinyl alcohol (1.25%) in the medical device ensures its rheological characteristics similar to tear fluid, as well as effective adhesive properties on the mucous membrane of the eye, without causing blurred vision. The hydrogel provides a long-term and effective effect of the components on the mucous membrane of the eye, stimulating re-epithelialization . Among the excipients of the product is methylsulfonylmethane - a substance containing biologically active sulfur that does not have a specific pharmacological effect, but promotes the absorption of dexpanthenol by activating cell permeability.
Keratosept – is a colloidal aqueous solution characterized by the following chemical and physical properties:
• perfectly transparent and colorless;
• completely mixes with tear fluid;
• has pH , viscosity, and osmolarity values that are perfectly compatible with eye tissues and tear fluid, and therefore is characterized by a high degree of tolerance.
Composition: Polyvinyl alcohol 1.25%, dexpanthenol 5%, hexamidine diisethionate 0.050%, polyhexanide hydrochloride 0.0001%, methylsulfonylmethane , disodium edetate , dibasic sodium phosphate, monobasic potassium phosphate, purified water.
How to use: Instill 1–2 drops into the lower conjunctival vault of the eye, pressing lightly on the bottle. If necessary, the drops can be used 2–3 or more times a day.
